Hopi Ear Candling (also known as Thermal Auricular Therapy) is a gentle, pleasant heat treatment of the ears, and a soothing alternative to ear syringing, which is helpful with:
- Excessive wax of the ears
- Irritation in the ears & sinuses
- Glue Ear
- Colds & Flu
- Noises in the ears/Tinnitus
- Equalising the pressure in the head
The candles that I use are traditional Hopi Ear Candles that are made out of Beeswax, Honey extracts, Sage, St John’s Wart, Chamomile, and Organically Grown Flax which are formed into a hollow tubes. The candles are placed into the entrance of the ear and work on a chimney principle, drawing any impurities to the surface where they can be gently removed. Secretion flow is gently stimulated and the vapour collects and removes impurities or deposits. Most of these are carried away through the candle ‘chimney’, although some of them can be found in condensed candle wax residue after removal from the ear, or could even work their way up to the surface 24-48 hours after.
